What Causes Frown Lines?

Contrary to popular belief, frown lines are not always caused by age. Age is a factor, but repeated facial movements, such as frowning or squinting, can also create frown lines, and this means they may develop even in younger adults.

How Is Dysport®/Botox®/Xeomin® Administered For Frown Line Removal?

Prescription Dysport/Botox/Xeomin is an injection used to temporarily improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) in adults.

With just 1 injection into each of 5 points between and above the eyebrows, Dysport®/Botox®/Xeomin® stops the signal from the nerve to the muscles, ultimately resulting in a reduction of muscle activity and temporarily preventing contraction of the muscles that cause frown lines.

Frown Line Removal FAQs

Since the smallest available needles are used, minimal to no discomfort is felt during the frown lines removal procedure.

Dysport/Botox/Xeomin normally lasts around 3-4 months. The maximum effects of these injectables are usually seen at about 2 weeks, so if a touch up is required, you can generally treat the same area again at that time.

As with any procedure involving needles, there is a small chance of mild bruising or mild transient redness at the area of injection. The procedure takes about 5 minutes and you may drive after it. There are no restrictions on your activity thereafter.
