What is cheek enhancement?
Cheek enhancement is an effective, non-surgical, and minimally invasive option for those who wish to have more volume in the cheekbone area and enhance their overall facial contour and balance. Because the cheek area is augmented with an injectable dermal filler, the results are more natural, require little down-time and have a low incidence of side-effects. Additionally, because no general anesthesia is required, the client may control his/her outcome by looking in the handheld mirror and providing feedback to Stacey Power RN throughout the procedure.
How do dermal fillers help in cheek enhancement?
Traditional cheek enhancement treatments are surgical, invasive procedures. Either silicone or fat is implanted into the cheekbone area. Surgical implants are done under general anesthesia with an incision made inside the mouth, through which the implant is inserted. The recovery can be painful and the outcome may not always be as desired.
Stacey Power RN prefers to use either the Radiesse, Belotero or Teoxane brands of dermal fillers for cheek enhancement. Each of these fillers are long lasting, approved for use in Australia and New Zealand, and hypoallergenic. Volume from the Belotero or Teoxane lines have the benefit of being reversible fillers. During your consultation, Stacey will determine which filler is ideal for you and your desired results.
How long does the treatment take?
About 20-30 minutes.
Is it painful?
Because a local anaesthetic is used, minimal to no pain will be felt.
Are there any side effects after non-surgical cheek enhancement?
Mild redness and swelling may appear, but will subside within several days after the procedure. Occasionally localised bruising is possible. Most patients are able to return to work and daily activities immediately after the procedure.
How long do the results last?
About 18 months – 2 years.
