What Is Lip Enhancement With Dermal Fillers?

Lip Enhancement is a non-surgical, cosmetic procedure done using hyaluronic lip fillers, to safely enhance or augment the lips. There are a variety of products that may be used, depending on the desired outcomes. These include Belotero Balance ® and RHA2 and other Teosyal ® fillers, which all work to enhance your lips in a beautiful, yet natural, way.

The correct application of lip fillers gives aesthetic balance and volume, and is particularly effective who anybody wanting a slightly fuller look to their lips, or who needs slightly more symmetry. Lip enhancement should give natural, fuller-looking lips, without the appearance of having any work done at all – overdone lip enhancement or augmentation leads to unnatural results. We work closely with clients to ensure your rejuvenated lips are never overdone – we simply help to enhance your natural beauty.

Lip enhancement and lip augmentation with dermal fillers are very common procedures – our clients include models and actors, yet the vast majority are now the regular women and men you work with and see every day – your colleagues, neighbours and friends.

How can dermal fillers be used in lip enhancement?

Dermal fillers come in 2 main types, permanent and temporary. Our mantra is always that permanent fillers can bring permanent problems, so we only use temporary, yet long-lasting, fillers for lip enhancements. The best candidates for lip enhancement are men and women who dream of having fuller, plumper lips. These natural, hyaluronic fillers are also perfect for people with thin lips that could benefit from more volume and a more balanced appearance, for those who may be concerned with defining the edges of their lips more, or if you are simply looking to restore the appearance of younger-looking lips.

Lip Enhancement FAQs

Lip enhancement and lip augmentation treatment times vary, depending on your needs and goals. Typically this cosmetic procedure takes about 20-30 minutes. Lip filler costs also vary, again depending on your goals and desired outcomes.

Mild redness and swelling may appear immediately after the procedure, but will subside within several days. Occasionally, localized bruising is possible. However, most patients are able to return to work and daily activities immediately after lip enhancement. As with any cosmetic procedure, lip enhancement aftercare involves certain steps that your cosmetic nurse will discuss with you during your consultation.

We use long-lasting, yet temporary, dermal fillers for lip enhancement and lip augmentation, which means that you can expect your results to last about 6 -12 months. Because we use temporary fillers, we are also able to tweak the results by dissolving some areas if needed to obtain your desired results.

To be honest – yes, they can be. That’s why Stacey Power (RN) applies a topical anaesthetic gel, such as lidocaine, to numb your lips before treatment. This means you should feel zero, or minimal, discomfort. Also, a very fine needle is used with dermal fillers for lip enhancement, which also means less discomfort. A cold, ice pack is applied after lip enhancement – this is also an effective way to lesson any post-treatment pain you might experience.
