Latisse® for Long, thick eyelashes –
Eyelashes Treatment is prescribed using Latisse® these days. It is used to grow your own natural eyelashes, making them longer, thicker, and darker.
Latisse ® is now licensed for the treatment of Eyelash Hypotrichosis in New Zealand. A consultation is required to ensure the medication is right for you. We recommend a face-to-face full assessment with one of our appearance medicine professionals.
It is important to understand that results can differ. We take before and after photos to provide accurate and useful information, showing a realistic portrayal of the outcomes that can be reasonably and typically expected in Eyelashes Treatment.
How do you use Latisse® Bimatoprost Ophthalmic Solution?
Like every routine, applying Latisse® Bimatoprost Ophthalmic Solution 0.03% is all about consistency and precision. Once you follow the basic guidelines, the results will come gradually over time. To see the full effects of your eyelash transformation, your nurse will take “before” pictures at the initial consultation, and at every subsequent visit to chart your progress. These will coincide with the prescription renewal of Bimatoprost Ophthalmic Solution.
There is a potential for hair growth to occur in areas where Latisse® Bimatoprost Ophthalmic Solution comes in repeated contact with skin surfaces. Only use the sterile applicators that come with Latisse® Bimatoprost Ophthalmic Solution. If discontinued, lashes will gradually return to their previous appearance.

What are the side-effects of Latisse®?
The most common side-effects after using Latisse® Bimatoprost Ophthalmic Solution are an itching sensation in the eyes, and/or eye redness, which has been reported in approximately 4% of patients. This may occur immediately after use, but should usually last only for a short period of time. Eye itching and eye redness are not allergic reactions and do not mean that your eyes are being harmed.
Latisse® Bimatoprost Ophthalmic Solution may cause other, less common, side effects, which typically occur on the skin close to where Latisse® Bimatoprost Ophthalmic Solution is applied, or in the eyes. These include eye irritation, dryness of the eyes, and redness of the eyelids. Skin darkening (hyperpigmentation), is another, less common, side effect. This condition causes areas of skin to become darker than the surrounding skin colour but has been reported to be reversible after discontinuation of the product.
You should always only use the FDA-approved sterile applicators to apply Latisse® Bimatoprost Ophthalmic Solution directly to the base of your upper eyelashes. The applicators have been specially designed & manufactured to meet FDA standards and to help patients properly apply the product in Eyelashes Treatment.
Could Latisse® cause the colour of my eyes to change?
Increased brown iris pigmentation has occurred when similar medications have been applied directly into the eye to treat elevated intraocular pressure/glaucoma. Although iris pigmentation has not been reported in clinical studies with Latisse®, patients should be advised about the potential for increased brown iris pigmentation, which is likely to be permanent.
Is Latisse® safe?
Latisse ® for Eyelashes Treatment is an FDA-approved prescription treatment for hypotrichosis used to grow eyelashes, making them longer, thicker, and darker. Hypotrichosis is another name for having inadequate, or not enough eyelashes. The FDA reviewed clinical study results to verify the identity, potency, purity, and stability of the ingredients and demonstrated that the product is safe and effective for its intended use if used as prescribed.
