Dermal Fillers Can Help You With:

How do fillers work?

Dermal fillers are made of a material called hyaluronic acid or HA. HA naturally exists as a component of your skin. Because it binds to water, it plumps and fills in wrinkles and folds, allowing immediate and smooth correction.

How is the treatment performed?

Dermal fillers are injected into the skin in a simple, quick procedure using a super fine needle – it can be done over your lunch hour.

Are the Dermal Fillers safe?

Belotero®, Teosyal®, and Radiesse® dermal fillers are approved in New Zealand and Australia and have undergone testing in clinical studies to prove their safety.

Are there any side effects of using Dermal Fillers?

Just as with any injection, you may experience mild irritation, swelling, itching, redness, bruising or tenderness at the injection site. These side effects typically resolve on their own. If any of these side effects persist, call your healthcare professional immediately.

How long is the recovery time?

There is very little to no downtime associated with a dermal filler procedure. In fact, most patients return to their normal daily activities right after their visit. Every patient is unique so be sure to discuss your plans with your appearance medicine professional during your consultation.

Belotero® Dermal Filler:

While Belotero® dermal filler is made of the same material (hyaluronic acid) as some other dermal fillers, it has unique properties that allow it to adapt within the skin for soft and even correction. The versatility of the product makes it strong enough to handle deep treatment areas such as nasolabial folds (smile lines around the mouth), yet soft enough to treat more delicate areas such as vertical lip lines (thin lines that appear above the lip line).

How long does Belotero® Dermal Filler last?

Individual results may vary, but Belotero® dermal filler may last from about 6 months to up to 2 years.

Teosyal® Dermal Filler:

Teosyal® is a full range of injectable dermal fillers made of biodegradable hyaluronic acid. The Teosyal® range is designed to complement the varying stages of facial ageing to provide natural-looking results.

How long does treatment with Teosyal® take?

A treatment with Teosyal® does not take long. Depending on the area and indication, it takes approximately 15-45 minutes. A touch-up treatment is sometimes performed approximately two weeks after the initial treatment to optimise the results.

Is the treatment with Teosyal® Dermal Filler painful?

In order to optimize your comfort during the injection sessions, Teoxane created the Teosyal® PureSense line with integrated anaesthetic (lidocaine).

How long do the effects of Teosyal® Dermal Filler treatment last?

As Teosyal® is a non-permanent filler, the effect gradually diminishes with time as the gel is degraded. In order to maintain the aesthetic result, top-up treatments are recommended. In the case of wrinkle treatments, these are generally performed after 6 to 18 months and for lip treatments within 6-9 months.

Can the range of products be combined or used with other products?

Each filler in the Teosyal® range is calibrated to match a particular treatment indication. Assuming treatment is required for different areas of the face, there is no reason why two or more fillers cannot be used, however, Teosyal® should not be injected into an area where an implant other than hyaluronic acid has been placed. Please inform Stacey during Consultation of any previous treatments

Radiesse® Dermal Filler:

Radiesse® filler is made of calcium-based microspheres suspended in a water-based gel and is injected into the skin through a simple and minimally invasive procedure. Radiesse® dermal filler is the ideal choice for total facial contouring, restoring a healthy, youthful appearance and enhancing your existing features. Defy age and gravity and increase your confidence – all without invasive surgery or scarring.

What areas can be treated with Radiesse®?

Typical Radiesse® injections include: smoothing and contouring smile lines or nasolabial folds, wrinkles at the corner of the mouth, acne scars of certain types, facial defects or recessions, restoring volume in and around the cheeks, back of the hands, and modest enhancement or correction of asymmetrical features. It has also been used for non-surgical nose re-shaping, chin augmentation, and liquid facelifts.

How long does Radiesse last?

Radiesse® dermal filler benefits can be evident for 6-24 months, depending on the area treated, amount of product used, the severity of the cosmetic problems, the technique used for filler implantation, and the patient’s genetic predispositions. Only examination of every particular case by an experienced appearance medicine professional can establish the approximate duration of expected results.

What can I expect after my treatment with Radiesse®?

Patients are up and around immediately after receiving their Radiesse® treatments. You can expect greatly improved wrinkles, enhanced lips or smoothed-out depressed scars. The treatment site may have a little swelling, which may last 24 to 36 hours, depending on the area treated. There may be some slight bruising at the injection site.

How many Radiesse® treatments will I need?

This may vary depending on the patient, the area treated, and the desired result. Results with Radiesse® are immediate, so you can determine at first glance if you are happy with the results or if you would like more Radiesse®. Usually, one to two treatments will be sufficient because Radiesse® is very slowly absorbed by your body and is long-lasting.
