What is Dermal needling:

If you can’t afford Platelet Rich Plasma treatments this is the way to go.

Although it will take a little longer to reach the results of PRP treatments, its an amazing treatment in itself or when used in conjunction with PRP. It is a fantastic treatment for wrinkles, UV damage, Lax skin, Actinic Keratosis, Hyperpigmentation, Scars, Acne Scars, Stretch Marks, Rosacea, and Hair Loss.

You can use it with different serums, or hyaluronic acid to enhance the treatments.

Hyaluronic Acid plumps and hydrates the skin leaving you with a fresh youthful result, but there are other serums as well that can specifically treat your particular issue.  Vitamin A for scarring, and a variety of serums for hair stimulation for example.

Always expanding applications of Dermal Needling

Dermal needling appliances are becoming varied, from dermal rollers (these are particularly good for home use, in between clinic treatments) to the DermaPen or DermaStamp, and now the Vital Gun which actually deposits products directly into the skin rather than rubbing it across the top of the skin for penetration.

All the needling appliances are good but each improves in results as you go up a level.

Dermal needling improves penetration of serum into the skin, it also breaks down damaged collagen in scars, and yet thickens the skin when you have sensitive reactive skin.

Large pores are a breakdown of collagen, and dermal needling causes a microtrauma to the skin, tricking the brain into thinking it’s damaged, and so throwing out more collagen and elastin to repair. This is why it is a great treatment for large pores.

Dermal needling FAQ

One of the first things we notice about someone is their skin complexion. Everyone would love to have beautiful, clear, luminous skin, and with new treatments available to treat a myriad of concerns, it is now attainable.

Dermal needling therapy has been available for many years, and a variety of devices have been used to cause micro-injuries to the skin to stimulate collagen production. At Beautiphi we use the derma roller. We also have the Dermapen and E-Dermastamp machines for an ever greater effect than dermal rolling.

Applications of dermal needling

Dermal needling is effectively used for

  • Skin tightening, lifting, and rejuvenation.
  • It also helps skin texture by improving wrinkles and fine lines and minimizing pore size.
  • Reducing scarring, whether it’s old acne scarring or a newer wound that has scarred.
  • Improve stretch marks, treat alopecia, and lift abnormal pigmentation.

For those interested in the science behind how causing a micro-injury to the skin stimulates collagen production:

INJURY -> INFLAMMATION ->GROWTH FACTOR EMISSION -> FIBROBLAST CELL MULTIPLICATION -> COLLAGEN AND ELASTIN SYNTHESIS

Medical Dermal Rolling or Skin Needling is used for collagen channelling for natural collagen induction therapy.

The principle behind collagen channelling and the medical needling treatment is simple. When it is applied to the skin, under local or topical anaesthetic, it creates channels deep into the dermis of the skin. These deep channels cause keratinocytes and fibroblasts to produce numerous growth factors to induce collagen, without any damage to the epidermis at all.

Dermal needling roller (Home use)

The principle behind the dermal needling is that it helps to increase the penetration of vitamins and other active ingredients into the skin. When applied to the surface of the skin, it creates micro-channels in the outer layer (surface) of the skin. Once this layer has been breached, a topical moisturizer can reach into the depths of the skin more effectively than by simply applying the products to the surface.

Regular use of Dermal needling and skin care products can:

  • Contribute towards skin thickening.
  • Assist in softening fine lines.
  • Helps scars to become less obvious.
  • Assist in the disappearance of pigmentation marks.

Advantages of using the take-home Derma Roller:

  • The process stimulates physiological responses.
  • It can be used by you at home.
  • There is no damage to the skin.
  • It can be used on all ages and all types of skin, even thin skin.
  • It can be used in all areas of the face, neck, and body.
